William's Story

The Horror - William Thony
00:00 / 00:00

William's passion for music goes back to his earliest days of childhood. He comes from a musical family. His father sang and played lead guitar in an established cover band. William  accompanied his dad to the majority of his gigs and rehearsals throughout childhood. It was on the family piano where he first started to play. Then it was the guitar and bass guitar.

By the time William was in his teens, he started playing in rock and roll bands. This is when he first started to compose his own music. William played in several bands through his twenties and into his thirties. He primarily played keyboards and synthesizers, and sometimes guitar.

William's love for film music is rooted just as deep. His inspirations include Bernard Herrmann, John Williams, and Danny Elfman, to name a few. From the Flying-Theme in E.T. to the Ice Dance in Edward Scissorhands, he was exposed to the beauty of musical storytelling.

With the advent of the technical age, William began recording his compositions using various DAWs (digital audio workstations.) It was through this process, that he began to engineer, mix, master, and produce. William produces his own cinematic-themed compositions, and he also records and produces musical projects for other musicians.

On his thirty-seventh birthday (August 31, 2018) William graduated valedictorian from Full Sail University with a bachelor degree of science  in Music Production. He he has since moved to Hollywood, California, where he currently resides. His techniques are innovative and from the heart.
